Dehradun Lit Fest 2025 Concludes with Powerful Conversations

Three-day festival ends with key discussions on ecology, culture, society and India’s future.

The Dehradun Literature Festival 2025 wrapped up on Sunday at Doon International School, closing three days of engaging talks, performances and cultural conversations. The final day opened with environmentalist Anoop Nautiyal’s session on Uttarakhand’s fragile Himalayas, where he stressed sustainable tourism and mindful development.

In “India @2047”, General Manoj Naravane, Aditya Pittie and Ranjita Ghosh discussed India’s growth path, women’s participation and rapid technological change. Nutrition expert Rujuta Diwekar highlighted the value of simple, home-cooked food in “The Indian Plate.”

Sessions through the day explored Partition memories, personal and political histories, and the evolving role of literature. Shobhaa De spoke about authenticity in writing, while filmmaker Nandita Das reflected on cinema’s power to shape society.

The festival concluded with a memorable performance by Usha Uthup, marking a vibrant end to one of Dehradun’s most anticipated cultural events of the year.
