Film lovers in Dehradun have another reason to look forward to September. The Jagran Film Festival Dehradun Chapter 2026 is set to bring a celebration of Indian and international cinema to the city on September 25 and 26.
The Dehradun chapter will be held at Silver City on Rajpur Road, giving Doon audiences the chance to experience the travelling film festival without having to head to a larger metropolitan city.
Established in 2010, the Jagran Film Festival (JFF) is a travelling film festival built around the idea of taking meaningful cinema beyond India's major metropolitan centres. In 2026, the festival is travelling through 14 cities, including Dehradun, Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Varanasi and Mumbai.
For Dehradun's growing community of movie buffs, the festival offers more than a regular trip to the cinema. JFF's wider programming includes film screenings alongside conversations, masterclasses, panel discussions and interactions around filmmaking and storytelling.
The festival's 2026 edition has also opened space for emerging filmmakers, with competitive sections covering Indian and international feature films, documentaries and short films.
With Silver City, Rajpur Road as the venue, the Jagran Film Festival Dehradun Chapter is well placed for audiences looking to make an evening of cinema in one of the city's busiest stretches. The event listing currently shows the chapter beginning at 4 PM on September 25, with the programme continuing into September 26.
For anyone in Doon who enjoys discovering films beyond mainstream releases, following independent cinema or simply wants a different kind of movie experience, Jagran Film Festival Dehradun 2026 is one to keep on the September calendar.
