Dehradun has a new spot for an evening walk, a family outing or simply some time around nature. The newly developed Jal Srishti Park in Miyanwala, Raipur, has opened to the public after an old pond at the site was rejuvenated as part of the project. Developed by the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA), the park was built at a cost of around ₹8.64 crore.
What makes Jal Srishti Park interesting for Dehradun residents is its mix of nature and recreation. The restored waterbody features an island in the middle and pedal boating, while the park also includes a walking/jogging track, yoga deck, children's area, landscaped green spaces and seating areas.
The project has also focused on preserving the existing waterbody rather than replacing it, making the park more than just another landscaped recreational space. For people in Raipur, Miyanwala and other parts of Dehradun, it offers a new place to spend time outdoors without having to leave the city for a lakeside experience.
