A major infrastructure project set to transform travel in Dehradun is making steady progress. The 12-km-long Dehradun Bypass, being developed by NHAI at a cost of ₹716 crore, has achieved nearly 44% completion and is expected to be ready by April 2027.
The four-lane access-controlled highway will connect Jhajhra with the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor, helping divert through-traffic away from the city and reducing congestion and pollution. The project will improve connectivity to Selaqui, Vikasnagar, Herbertpur and Paonta Sahib while also boosting access to popular destinations like Mussoorie.
Designed with wildlife protection and environmental sustainability in mind, the bypass is expected to significantly improve urban mobility, regional connectivity and travel experience for residents and visitors across Dehradun.
