People travelling between Dehradun, Haridwar and Delhi have a reason to look forward to better road connectivity. A new 51-km six-lane highway connecting Halgoi to Haridwar is expected to open in the last week of November 2026.

Part of the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor, the new link road will provide an alternative route to Haridwar while helping reduce traffic congestion around Roorkee and Bahadrabad. It will also improve connectivity towards Rishikesh, benefiting travellers from Dehradun heading towards Delhi and western Uttar Pradesh.

Delhi-Dehradun Expressway Update

The highway will feature six major bridges, six flyovers and an 870-metre elevated road near Badheri. Since it is an access-controlled highway, vehicles will be allowed to enter and exit only through designated interchanges.

With the upcoming opening, road travel between Dehradun, Haridwar and Delhi could become more convenient, particularly for people planning weekend trips and journeys during the upcoming 2027 Haridwar Mahakumbh.
