Dehradun is set to strengthen its position as an education and tourism hub with a ₹173 crore Science City being developed across 26 acres in Jhajhra. The project aims to make science more engaging and accessible for students, families and visitors.
Developed under the Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST), the Science City is planned to feature AI and robotics exhibits, a digital library, science galleries and a ‘Lab on Wheels’ initiative to promote hands-on learning.
The upcoming facility will give students an opportunity to explore science and emerging technologies beyond their classrooms. It is also expected to boost science tourism in Dehradun, attracting school groups, families and visitors.
The project could create opportunities for local businesses and tourism-related services while encouraging scientific curiosity and innovation among young people.
