Doon University has launched the AI-for-All initiative, a first-of-its-kind program aimed at bringing employment-oriented artificial intelligence education to higher educational institutions across Uttarakhand.
The initiative was inaugurated by Uttarakhand Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) at Lok Bhavan on July 31, 2026. Doon University is the state's nodal partner for the project, which is being implemented in collaboration with IIT Madras, IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation, and the Ministry of Education's SWAYAM Plus platform.
In its first phase, students will have access to industry-focused AI courses, including AI/ML using Python, AI in Physics, AI in Chemistry, AI in Accounting, AI for Educators, and AI for Aspiring Engineers. These specialised courses are designed to equip learners with practical, future-ready skills that improve employability in an AI-driven economy.
The initiative will benefit students across 11 state government universities in Uttarakhand by making advanced AI education accessible to all. By expanding digital learning opportunities, the program aims to help students become innovators and creators rather than just users of technology, strengthening the state's higher education ecosystem for the future.
