Amid the rising tensions between Pakistan and India after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, instructions have been given by the Union Home Ministry to organize a Civil Defence Mock Drill throughout the nation today.
During this drill, sirens will ring suddenly along with a blackout. People will then go to safe places. In compliance with these instructions from the Union Home Ministry and the Chief Secretary of the state, a mock drill will take place in five areas of Dehradun district at 4:00 p.m. in the evening. These areas are Dhara Police Chowki, Bling School Rajpur Road, Lakhkhibagh Police Station, District Magistrate Complex Collectorate, ISBT and Araghar Police Chowki.
The main aim of this mock exercise is to keep the IRS system active including civil defense and to make the general public aware of what steps have to been taken during a possible external attack.
