A dish that is nothing short of a delectable ode to the vibrant flavours of the land, Chakotra Chaat runs deep in the culinary tradition that Uttarakhand holds. Unbelievably simple to prepare, this dish is a local special and for a good reason.

If you’re new in the city, this is the winter’s delish kiss you didn’t know you needed! It is fresh, tangy and wholesome — what more could one want, really?

More than a treat, Chakotra Chaat is an experience

Chakotra, or pomelo, is grapefruit's larger cousin and comes with a zesty, juicy flesh. And all you’ve to do to indulge in this winter delight is peel the fruit, separate the parts, remove the seeds, and add an assortment of chatpata flavours (as per you like).

Traditionally, the citrus fruit is topped by a melange of masale (especially chaat masala), chutney, a teeny bit mustard oil, red chilli powder and a splash of lemon, in order to transform it into Chakotra 'Ka Chaat'! You can also garnish the same with mint leaves. The entire fusion creates the chatpata fruit chaat that can refresh your palate and remind you of home. Oh, and, the fruit is also rich in nutrients and is known to improve digestion, heart and liver health.

The perfect definition of pahaadi charm, the dish ranks high under the staple Doon foods that the winter yield graces the local-ites with, making it an experience every one must have.
