The future of Dehradun is now open for public feedback. The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) has begun a 12-day public consultation on the Dehradun Master Plan 2041, inviting residents to share suggestions and objections before the city's long-term development blueprint is finalized.
The first sector-wise hearing was held at Shakun Sports Academy, Ajabpur Khurd, with more consultations scheduled till July 21 (excluding weekends) from 11 am to 5 pm. The draft Master Plan focuses on managing Dehradun's rapid growth through better residential planning, commercial and industrial development, improved road networks, public transport, green belts and upgraded urban infrastructure.
Rather than being just another government exercise, this consultation gives citizens a direct chance to influence how Dehradun develops over the next two decades. MDDA officials have said that every suggestion will be reviewed technically and legally before being included in the final Master Plan, making public participation a key part of shaping a smarter, greener, and more sustainable Dehradun.
