Dehradun is all set to make history with Uttarakhand's first women-only Pink Park, a unique initiative aimed at creating a safer, more inclusive public space exclusively for women. The proposed park will also allow entry for children up to 10 years of age, making it a family-friendly destination for mothers with young kids.

The Pink Park is being planned as a secure recreational space where women can relax, exercise, read and socialize without safety concerns. In a first for the state, the entire park will be managed by an all-women workforce, including security personnel, reinforcing its focus on women's safety and comfort.

According to the proposed plan, the park will feature well-maintained walking tracks, an open-air gym, landscaped gardens, a library, indoor games and a dedicated children's play area. The thoughtfully designed facilities aim to encourage healthier lifestyles while giving women a welcoming space to spend quality time outdoors.

The initiative aligns with the growing demand for gender-inclusive urban infrastructure across India. Dedicated public spaces such as Pink Parks have already been introduced in several cities to promote women's participation in community life and improve access to safe recreational areas. With this project, Dehradun joins the list of cities taking meaningful steps toward creating safer and more accessible public spaces for women.

Once completed, the Pink Park is expected to become a landmark addition to Dehradun's urban landscape, offering residents a peaceful environment for fitness, leisure and community engagement while setting a new benchmark for women-friendly public infrastructure in Uttarakhand.
