A revolutionary development is all set to transform the travel experience between Mussoorie and Dehradun. It is the Dehradun-Mussoorie ropeway that has been much awaited. The project is near its completion and promises to cut the travel time to just 45 minutes while offering a breathtaking view of the hills.
HERE ARE KEY DETAILS OF THE PROJECT:
1. The state-of-art ropeway is being jointly developed by Uttarakhand Government and private stakeholders.
2. The total cost of the project is estimated at INR 300-350 crores
3. The project is being executed by Mussoorie Sky Car Company Ltd.
4. It is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2025 and will operate between Rajpur Road (Dehradun) and Library Chowk (Mussoorie).
FEATURES OF THE ROPEWAY:
1. The length of the ropeway is approximately 6 kms and travel time is 45 minutes.
2. The ropeway can carry 1000-1200 passengers per hour in each direction in its 50-70 cabins with seating for 8-10 people each.
3. The cabins are fully automated with AI based safety systems and also eco-friendly for minimum environmental disruption.
