Kumaon gets direct rail connectivity to Rajasthan with Daurai-Tanakpur train service inauguration

Kumaon has just received its newest access to Rajasthan with the Daurai-Tanakpur-Daurai rail service being inaugurated. The line has officially come into service from March 31, making the journey from Rajasthan's Daurai to Uttarakhand's Tanakpur in 19.5 hours.

As per its schedule, train number 15092, Tanakpur-(Daurai) Ajmer, will be operational four times a week and will depart from Tanakpur every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 18.20 hours. It will then reach Daurai at 13.55 hours the next day.

Similarly, train number 15091, Daurai (Ajmer)-Tanakpur, will also ply four days a week and will leave from Daurai every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 16.05 hours. The train will reach Tanakpur at 09.35 hours the next day.

"The people of the Kumaon region will now get the benefit of better train services for long distances. This will provide convenience to local passengers, give a new dimension to tourism and make the journey easier for the devotees coming to Maa Purnagiri Dham."

Incorporating 16 coaches, the railway service will follow the route - Khatima, Pilibhit, Bhojipura, Izzatnagar, Bareilly City, Bareilly Junction, Chandausi, Moradabad, Ghaziabad, Delhi Junction, Delhi Cantt, Gurgaon, Rewari, Narnaul, Neem Ka Thana, Shrimadhopur, Ringas, Phulera, Kishangarh and Ajmer stations.
