The Uttarakhand Assembly's budget session kicked off today, announcing a couple of changes on the way. The chief difference will be seen with the state going paperless under the e-Vidhan system and the National e-Vidhan Application (e-NEVA) platform.

No more bundles of documents will be used for official work. However, this won’t be a complete shift just yet. Essential documents like the agenda, legislative questions, responses, the governor’s address, and the budget will be accessible in digital format, though some physical copies may still be used when necessary.

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the system, setting the stage for a session packed with 521 questions from legislators. The budget for the fiscal year 2025-26 is scheduled to be presented on February 20, 2025, outlining the government's financial plans and priorities for the upcoming year.
