Archana Puran Singh was born in Dehradun in 1962. Time and again, the actress has spoken about her fond memories in the city, be it her early education at Convent of Jesus and Mary (CJM) or the local spots of the city for street shopping and food.
In an interview with a media portal recently, the actress spoke about her fond memories in Dehradun and said, “Some of my earliest memories from my home town are going shopping with my mom and dad in Paltan Bazaar or a shop called Novelty at Clock Tower where dad would often stop to pick knick-knacks for the house. Elloras was where my sister and I would go every day to buy out pastries; then we would head to Newlite, a comic book store where we would pick up our treasure of comics and storybooks and then would head home to devour both with a pleasure that I believe can only be experienced in childhood.”
On the professional front, Archana Puran Singh made her debut in films with ‘Nikaah’ in 1982 opposite the great Naseeruddin Shah. Ever since, she has been loved for her roles in films like Takkar, Krrish, De Dana Dan, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Bol Bachchan, Walk, Vicky Vidya Ka Who Wala Video and more.
In television, the actress has done a couple of daily soaps. In reality shows, her best work is touted to be in the comedy laughter shows, The Kapil Sharma Show, India’s Laughter Champion and The Great Indian Kapil Show.
