In great news for commuters and travelers alike, the journey between Dehradun and Delhi is about to become smoother, serene and significantly faster!
The highly anticipated Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, all set to open in January 2025, will drastically reduce the travel time between the two cities from 6.5 hours to 2.5 hours.
Coming up in the form of a state-of-the-art expressway spanning 212 kms, this roadway aims to transform regional connectivity.
Budgeted at a whopping ₹12,000 crore, the six-lane, access-controlled expressway will be connecting Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Some of the eye-grabbing features include 12 way-side amenities for passenger convenience, a 12-km-long elevated wildlife corridor and provisions like animal underpasses and bridges to further enhance the region's biodiversity.
Facilities like 113 vehicular underpasses, five road overbridges, 62 bus shelters and a Greenfield road to link Dehradun to Haridwar will also feature on the expressway.
The development is slated to streamline traffic, especially in East Delhi and ease the influx on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway.
