Dehradun, the city of hills is a tourist hotspot for the summer season owing to its cool temperatures all year round and serene mountain and lake views. In this regard, Indian Railways IRCTC’s new summer special train has started functioning from Dehradun to Charlapalli.
Every year during summer, tourists come from different cities and return. Not just tourists, residents of Dehradun also travel to vacation at locations far and wide. But due to the lack of trains on various routes, people have to wait for confirmed tickets or opt for air travel which is expensive.
Currently, all the trains running from Dehradun are packed. To combat this issue, Indian Railways’ new summer special train from Dehradun to Hyderabad’s Charlapalli railway station has started operating. This train will start from Dehradun with stoppages at Haridwar, Roorkee, Hazrat Nizamuddin Junction, Mathura Junction, Agra Cantt, Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi Junction, Bina, Rani Kamlapati, Itarsi, Nagpur, Ballarshah, Sirpur Kagaz Nagar, Belampalli, Mancherial, Ramagundam and Kazipet stations. The final destination will be Hyderabad.
The train will leave from Charlapalli at 5 a.m. on Tuesday and reach Dehradun at 7:70 p.m. the next day. Then, it will depart from Dehradun on Thursday morning at 7:00 a.m. and reach Charlapalli on Friday night at 10:30 p.m. As per Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Aditya Gupta, the train will make six trips in Aril and May on dates April 24 and May 1, 15, 18, 22, 29. The total one time journey will be completed in 39 and a half hours.
The fare of sleeper coach to Charlapalli is Rs. 925 and that of AC III coach is Rs. 2,355.
