In addition to the special buses launched for the pilgrimage, Dehradun now has a new flight service between Dehradun and Prayagraj. The inaugural flight took off on Sunday, facilitating 64 pilgrims' travel.
As the Maha Kumbh Mela takes off in a grand manner, Alliance Air has launched an exclusive flight to Prayagraj from the city in order to aid travellers.
The flight, a 70-seater aircraft, will start from Delhi before arriving in Doon and its one-way fare will be between Rs 8,500 - Rs 10,500. It will depart on Sundays from Dehradun and make return trips on Tuesdays.
Celebrated once in a span of 12 years, the Maha Kumbh Mela is a grand religious and spiritual gathering. This year alone, the event is expected to witness a huge gathering of devotees converging at Prayagraj’s Triveni Sangam.
