In a world where crimes against women are only turning more and more brutal with each passing day, it is modern safety devices like the one created by 17-year-old Rohit Parihar that we need.
Hailing from Wajula, in Uttarakhand's Bageshwar district, Rohit developed a 'Smart Device for Women Safety' that fits discreetly into any handbag or purse. What's special? The device comes with features like emergency automatic calling, GPS navigation and even a much needed spy camera.
Rohit’s Smart Device for Women Safety, which was officially released in 2023, has already turned heads for its practicality and impact.
"If the woman presses the trigger button on this device so automatically the family people and local police station will get the call. After that, the police or family can track her via GPS location to rescue the woman. The spy camera will record everything around, and the recording can be watched later," Parihar, who bagged the Virtual Innovation Competition 2023 for the invention, explained, as quoted by Mint.
What's more, the device can be charged like a phone and can run up to 27 hours after a single charge.
Rohit, who comes from a humble rural background, has created numerous interesting innovations ever since he was in class 7, added, "I want to build a startup someday where I can focus on consumer and environment-friendly innovations."
