Dehradun, one of the most beautiful cities in India with majestic landscapes is also a popular a popular shooting location for Bollywood filmmakers. Although numerous movies have been shot in the city, here are some of them:

1. Lakshya: The film Lakshya was shot in the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun. The film is directed by Farhan Akhtar and starred by Preity Zinta, Hrithik Roshan and Sharad Kapoor. It is a war drama and portrays the journey of a boy from an aimless young man to a responsible army officer. The film was a blockbuster.

2. Student Of The Year: Have you ever wondered where is the location of St. Teresa’s college that comprises such a big part of the Siddharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan starrer? Well, it is none other than the Forest Research Institute (FRI) in Dehradun. Some portions of the film are also shot in Casiga School and Welhum’s Boys’ School.

3. Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein: Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein starring Dia Mirza, R Madhavan and Saif Ali Khan is till date a popular romantic movie. This one too has been shot at FRI, Dehradun.

4. Krishna Cottage: The Bollywood horror movie Krishna Cottage has been shot at FRI Dehradun. The beauty of the forests of the city has been done complete justice to. The film starts Sohail Khan, Isha Koppikar and Anita Hassanandani and is among one of the scariest Bollywood movies.

5. Pan Singh Tomar: The National Award winning film, Pan Singh Tomar has been shot in Dehradun and Roorkee. Directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, the movie features actors like Irrfan Khan, Mahi Gill, Vipin Sharma and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. It attained a great deal of critical acclaim.
