If you’re in Dehradun and seeking a quick adventure in the form of a moderate trek, the Nag Tibba Trek is your best bet! Why? It’s got everything!

A short drive, a nice hike with breathtaking views of the Garhwal Himalayas, and too many moments to collect that’ll make you forget about your phone! What's better than that?

All you need to know:

Located in Uttarakhand's Garhwal region, this place falls near Mussoorie and an approx 4 hour drive from Dehradun takes you to Pantwari, which happens to be the trek’s starting point. From there, it’s around a 4-5 hour ascent to the Pantwari base camp, and another 2-3 hour trek to the Nag Tibba summit (9,915 ft). The moderate level trek can also be completed in two days.

While the trail is beginner-friendly, factors like numerous steep climbs, scenic beauty, beautiful flora and fauna and dense Oak forests, quaint villages make it a trek worth for all kinds of hikers and thrill seekers alike.

Moreover, the endless peaks that you'd get to see while on the way to Nag Tibba Base Camp are fascinating. On a clear day, you can spot Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, Kedarnath and even Gangotri ranges. It is said that local villagers visit this place to pray to Nag Devta for their cattle's protection.

While sunrises here look surreal, camping under the stars, with a nice bonfire nearby, is magical in itself!

The best part? The Nag Tibba trek can be covered over a mere weekend. If you leave from Doon early on a Saturday, start your trek that day itself, camp at the base camp overnight, you can easily make it back before Sunday evening! Even if you divide the trek into two parts, you can camp for two nights and return to the city early on Monday!

P.S. The best time to embark on the Nag Tibba Trek is between December to February. However, the place can be visited all year round and offers just as many adventures and picturesque views!

So? Gather your travel partners and start marking dates for this adventure. Carry your mountain gear, get some great trekking shoes, and head to Pantwari, for it's worth it!
